I love Mediterranean cuisine and have enjoyed many great places over the years. I found Sam's Gyros to be average. Fairly open kitchen so we saw that the microwave is one of their favorite appliances to use. Saganaki cheese appetizer- they did not bring it to the table flaming and gave us 2 very small slices of lemon. Hummus - no seasoning, very bland (as in all you taste is garbanzo). Gyro was dry and Tzatziki sauce was more like sour cream mixed with cucumbers. My husband liked the spanikopita. Most likely won't be returning.
Split the Lamb Shawarma and Sam's Plate appetizer sampler with my husband. We enjoyed the filling and generous portions and will have to make this a regular stop on date night.
My husband and I went here today for a late lunch. I googled best gyro near me and Sam’s came up. We were nervous at first but quickly realized how nice the they were. Our food (gyro burger, and gyro with side of fries) were amazing. Fries were crispy and that home made sauce on the gyro was the star of the show. I enjoyed the gyro being in a pocket form and it not falling apart. Veggies were fresh. I have had Mr. Gyros before and the onions always smelled bad but this place I can say has the best gyro I have ever had. Thank you for the experience you have a new life time customer.
